Running the Sample

The first thing you probably want to do when trying out Strecks is get something up and running. This gives you something to try out, play with and modify with very little initial effort.

As of Strecks 1.0.1, this is much easier, as an embedded Jetty Server is used to launch the samples. The samples can be built and run using a single command. Just follow these steps:

Download and install See ANT, if you don't already have it installed.
Download the Strecks source distribution, and unzip it onto the local file system.
From the command prompt in the root directory of the source distribution, run the command ant run_samples.

This will start a Jetty Server instance on port 8080. To view the applications, use the following local machine URLs:

http://localhost:8080/holidaybooking
http://localhost:8080/actiontest
